Originating from Highland Park, California, The Sirens continue to get rave reviews for their ambition, high-energy shows, style, and sly humor on stage. This all-female quartet that ranges in age from sixteen to eighteen break the gender labeling for punk rock music and deliver a style all of their own. With influences ranging from No Doubt, Mana, X, The Ramones, and The Ataris, The Sirens infuse rock, punk, and Spanish rock for a memorable show experience. After seeing them live, there is no question that these girls rock your minds out !
Marina Bravo (lead guitar/vocals), Dejah Sandoval (bass/ vocals), Heidi Bringuez (rhythm guitar/vocals), and Jasmin Guevara (drums) came together while attending Romona Hall, an arts education center in Highland Park. After three years of working together they continue to develop as a band and as friends. The four girls contribute to the songwriting process and through their set they have a medley of songs with Marina, Dejah, and Heidi taking turns on lead vocals.
Even though The Sirens predominately perform in southern California, they have already garnered a considerable amount of national attention. With high demands to see them perform and get their music, The Sirens’ new CD, “Try Not To Choke” sold out copies within two weeks of the CD’s debut release. They have already made appearances on MTV, had their music licensed for MTV’s Call To Greatness and Smash Box, been featured in ABC’s Vista L.A., the L.A. Times, and KPFK’s Travel Tips of Atzlan, opened for bands like Go Betty Go and Los Abandoned, and with their recent feature in Tu Ciudad (Los Angeles) they continue to get a great deal of attention.
Venues, high schools, and colleges from all over are requesting to see The Sirens. While they keep their rapidly growing career in perspective – and still have to do homework- The Sirens are relishing the ride!!!! |
